PMK TESTIMONY QUESTIONNAIRE

Your Story.
His Faithfulness.

A Safe Place for the Next Generation.

Every Pastor’s Kid and Missionary Kid carries a story—beautiful memories, hard seasons, or both. Most of all, we want to hear how Jesus met you and is still working in your life.

18 questions in 5 parts. Your answers help us build Safe Place, are read only by our team, and are never posted.

Your testimony — please answer every question
PART I

My Story

Are you a Pastor’s Kid, Missionary Kid, or both?
How long have your parents/family been in ministry?
What was it like growing up in a ministry family?

What experiences, people, opportunities, or memories are you grateful for?

Was there a particular experience or season that made you aware of the expectations attached to being a pastor’s or missionary’s child?

PART II

Behind The Expectations

You may talk about areas such as:

expectations and pressure
feeling watched or judged
loneliness or isolation
difficulty trusting people
identity struggles
family and ministry boundaries
church hurt
pressure to appear spiritually strong
questions about God or the Church
burnout
rebellion or living a double life
difficulty finding people who understood you

You don't have to share details you are not ready or comfortable sharing.

What did you need that perhaps you did not know how to ask for at the time?

Someone you could talk to honestly without immediately being judged, corrected, compared, or expected to protect your family's ministry image?

If yes, how did that relationship help you?

If no, what difference do you think having that kind of relationship could have made?

PART III

Jesus In My Journey

Tell us about that journey.

Was there a particular encounter, Scripture, person, season, failure, conversation, or experience through which you began to see Him differently?

How has He changed the way you see:

yourself,
your parents,
the Church,
ministry,
and God as your Father?

Your story does not have to be completely resolved. What is Jesus currently teaching, healing, rebuilding, or forming in you?

PART IV

If Safe Place Existed Then...

Before answering, here is what we mean by Safe Place:

Safe Place is a Christ-centered ministry for Pastor’s Kids and Missionary Kids that comes alongside ministry families to provide a spiritual family where PMKs can belong, be understood, encounter Jesus, receive healing and discipleship, build meaningful relationships, be mentored, and grow into the sons and daughters God has called them to be.

Why?

What kind of environment, relationships, conversations, mentoring, activities, or support would have helped you feel:

“There is a place for me here.”

What should we be careful not to do?

“Please make sure Safe Place is a place where…”

Complete the sentence in your own words.

PART V

To Another PMK

Speak to them as though they were sitting across the table from you.

“Through everything I have been through, Jesus…”

OUR HEART

We are not collecting stories to prove that ministry families are broken.

We are listening because their stories matter.

We want to celebrate what was beautiful, understand what was painful, learn what could have helped, and above all, testify to the faithfulness of Jesus.

Every story can help us build better for the generation coming after us.

“In My Father’s House, there’s a place for me.”

OUR INVITATION

There’s a place for me.

In My Father’s House, There’s a Place for Me.
